All Tanaka products comply with EPA phase 2 regulations and all Tanaka product groups are C.A.R.B Tier II compliant.

Just as not all engine technologies are equal, it is important to understand that not all manufacturers use the same high quality engine components throughout their product line. "I work as a landscape architect in the professional golf event world as a designer and director of construction. I started as a volunteer in 1989 and now have contracts for 3 major championships per year. Part of my work includes the training, installation and maintenance of ornamental plant material with an unskilled labor force. We just successfully completed the 35th Ryder Cup Matches in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. This was preceded by two other events in May and August. The total combined quantity of plant material for these three events exceded 26,000 plants. This included 8,000 fully grown ornamental grass plants in 10" pots and the remaining 18,000 plants in 8" pots. From start to finish all 26,000 plants were installed in a total of 1100 manhours. This equals 1 plant being planted every 28 seconds. This feat is only made possible by the use of two TANAKA TED 262R power drills with 7" augers. I have been using the augers for five years and have s uccessfully planted over 100,000 plants since their purchase. Preceding the acquisition of the drills we were able to plant an average of 400-500 plants per day versus the current 1,000 per day. The drills are reliable and perform consistantly. They rest annually from September to May and answer the call every May with one shot of starter fluid. They are admired by the work force who are chosen to operate them each year.
